Introspection on child education

Role of literature

It is a great challenge for any teacher to serve and nurture young minds so that they become morally upright and responsible individuals. Serving children is like service to god. Children are God's epitome on earth. They are innocent and bear no malice. People are born basically good. It is lack of faith and sympathy for others that make them resort to acts of immorality. This is where education comes into play.
Learning is gaining knowledge to improve oneself and to spread awareness among the people around and perhaps bring about a social change for the betterment of society. In the present material world people study to make money. In the ideal sense education means mental growth through knowledge. The mental progress is to gain not money but healthy mind. This can only bring self fulfillment not material wealth. The human mind is never satisfied no matter how much wealth he gains. Only a healthy mind can bring peace.
It is indeed a pleasure to mold children lovingly, make them good at heart and more sensitive to the issues and distress of the world. Especially a literature teacher plays an important role in making children feel the woes of man kind. Literature is nothing but the mirror of society. It borrows everything from real life experiences. The social issues explored in literature reflect human plight through out history. Children can easily relate to it as they too experience these in their daily life. I would love to imbibe goodness in them so that their goodness inspire others to become good natured, so that they can heal and make the world a better place. Apart from that, I would like to also encourage them to realize their goals in life and offer help and support to achieve their dreams.
